The Stations of the Cross, a Design Analysis

Master Research on Religion, Faith & Performance

Design Research, Design Writing, Art Direction & Publishing,

For my Master research at Central Saint Martins, I wrote and presented a step by step comparative analysis of the Catholic Easter ritual of the Stations of the Cross, with secular events such as concerts and cinema showings. Drawing on links between design of performance, design of belief expressions, and creation of belief and faith in the public by the performer. Out of this came a 50 page publication, with personal analysis, comparison and personal interpretation of the ritual.

Visual experimentations on religious representation, building digital scenes from custom 3D models.

Experimentation and research on creating and representing religious text and exacerbating it’s meaning.
